Last week I talked about making sure your website is fast – for a number of reasons. This week let’s look at another quick improvement you can make to your online presence that only takes a few minutes to set up.
Can your Customers get a hold of you quickly?
Google recently released a new feature to help make it easier for your customers to get a hold of you quickly.
I’m sure you already know – having someone ready to pick up the phone when someone is calling to schedule a test can often times be the difference between getting them as a customer and calling them back to find out they already scheduled it with a competitor.
Now google added an easy way for customers to be able to message you quickly or indicate you have an easy way to schedule appointments with them. (You are using the C3 portal already, right? 🙂 )

The other great feature to engage your customers faster that google just released – also for your business listing – is the messaging option.
All you need is a phone number that can send and receive SMS from that will show up on your business listing. (SMS is just text messaging.) The number won’t be publicly listed on your site, so it doesn’t have to be your normal business number. You’ll also need to add a short welcome message.
Once you’ve added the number it’ll show up in your google business listing in a few minutes. It’s a good idea to test it out so you’re confident on how it works before customers start sending you messages.
Both of these are great instruments to have in your toolbelt to make it easier for your customers to engage quickly and efficiently with you. It means your customers can contact you via their preferred method. (Lots of younger people would sooner die than pick up the phone, but will readily send text messages)
